Hello!

Well, usually my blog is full of pictures and less words, so now I'll put more words and less pictures.

At least for this post. =D

I wanna talk a bit about knives.

Yes.

The favorite weapon of killers in slasher flicks! Haha. That bloody, sharp, offensive... Just joking.

I'm currently about to run a test of "cutting ability". I believe that a well sharpened plain edge (the normal type of edge, which is the part u cut with) cuts tomatoes and bread better than a normal serrated edge (the type that most bread and tomato knives are, with teeth).

Anyone wants to argue?

Here are the candidates:

On top we have the RM36 IKEA 365+ Ginstra bread knife, featuring serrated edge.

And at the bottom we have the US$ 9.90 (RM 30.626 but costs me ~RM 65 after transport and tax) Kai PureKomachi2 Chef's knife, featuring plain edge hand honed by ME! Haha!

And to test, these are going to a friend who baked bread. She will use them exclusively for bread only and let me know the results! They will go out tonight!

I hope the purple one wins cos I LOVE purple! Silver is overrated! HAha!!

Man.. My camera batteries are so shot.. Why don't I bring my camera to weddings? Simple. The lighting is too low for my pathetic sensor to make great images. And if I keep shooting objects instead of people (cos they move) then people might think I'm some kinda wierdo. And I would look so funny beside wedding shooters shooting two D3's (Malaysian "pro's" are SO spoilt) and 200mm f/2.8's and 50mm f/1.2's >.<>

What about a non red sky? Well, ask and you will receive. =D

My battery is insane! I switched on my camera and auto play my photos and it died in 3 mins. I did it again and now its 1:20 a.m., 50 mins and still going. How do i drain the battery? O.o Insanity... Why, cos i did it yesterday till i fell asleep, don't know if it continued. The battery should be dead...

My goal has somewhat failed.. somewhat. 1 month has passed and still no six-pack, not really visible yet anyway. But its coming, its so coming.

I din know i could jog so long.. Thanks Seletyn, Carmen and Zi Xin (or something). =P I still want my mac n cheese.

I am so back man!

Isn't free WiFi amazing? Its faster than expensive free lines. Remember this pic? I was praising my line for its speed. This totally blows it! I've even gotten 180 KB/s! Thats 1.44 Mbps!! All this over a wireless connection! Woot!

29" Pensonic CRT color TV.

Here goes. Call from mom: I won a 29" TV! Wuu.. Really? Its apparently won at Holiday Villa Subang staff party. So the next day she went and took it cos on that day she went back early during the staff party. So its home..

Installed by me...

Impression #1: Its kinda blurry. Wayyyyyy worse than my 21" Phillips. Worse than any other 29" TV i saw. Even the colors looks unnatural... Nvm.. Small issues...

Hmm.. The remote control din work.. Opened it up.. And the capacitor was touching the resistor! O.o

Fixed that. It worked. Set the channels. Then the TV started getting dimmer till the picture eventually disappeared.. Whack it and it comes on again..

So call the Pensonic guy, he changed the IC and it worked! Until...

Why do I hate Windows? Just trying to post this makes me wonder what actually goes on in Microsoft...

So it starts of like this...

As i was reading this,

I got intrigued and clicked on this. The result is the image above. Looks like even Microsoft can't figure out that i'm using Windows XP, their (disastrous) product!!!! Even sitemeter (thats the counter for my blog) can!! How pathetic is that?

So I tot, Hey! Lets post this! So i print screen and pasted it in Microsoft Paint. Edited tho show the red oval and save! Walla! (or so I tot...)

So I started uploading... and uploading... and uploading... Whats wrong? O.o That pathetic program created a dumb .bmp file which is 2.3 Mb huge!!!! Imagine a 1024 x 768 picture being 2.3 Mb!! In case u were wondering, thats 0.8 MP. (They actually went and fully interpolated 1024 x 768 x 3 colors (RGB) and din bother to compress anything) My camera is 6 MP and it makes files smaller than that!! (Its about 2Mb per pic at its highest and 800kb for most of what i shoot) Its unthinkable and only done by the great wonder which is Windows. Of course, I fixed everything with Picasa2. Thank you Google!

Something interesting I found..

When your monitor (whether it is an LCD, CRT or Plasma display)
needs to display the color white, it consumes much more energy than
it would need to produce the color black or variants thereof. The
color black is the absence of light, so your monitor can turn off
the backlight for the black pixels, while the color white is all
colors combined, so your monitor has to intensify its backlight
for all of the white pixels. Think back to elementary school when

Auto mode (means EVERYTHING auto): Flash. VERY BAD. (Click pic for bigger pic)

Program mode: no flash, everything else auto. (Click pic for bigger pic)
and i thought the auto WB(white balance) was awesome. Can't blame it though.. Too many different colored lights.

Night potrait mode: flash; slow sync; gelled to surrounding light. Custom WB with gelled flash (surrounding lighting better). Not perfect, but good enough for post editing or even as is! (Click pic for bigger pic)

How to gel flash? Chinese tea!! Haha!! Shoot the flash thru that and it becomes yellow like the surrounding! (Hint: its better to use filters xD) (Click pic for bigger pic)

There, thats the easy part. =P

How was the wedding? Unfortunately, it was quite bad.. Bad crowd + almost 0 entertainment. Tsk.. They (the couple) seemed to enjoy it though (of course they did xD). =P

So.. Picasa2? Go for it! Its awesome (AND FREE!!)! Not perfect, but still awesome. Wonder if iPhoto can do better? Duh? Of course it can (i think) xD Two thumbs up!

Also i've heard of some bad stuff about their butter. Looks like its not ready for prime time.. Sorry. Try harder. Or just copy off A&W. They make good syrup/butter/waffles. =P Too bad for McDs! Haha!

I found a new place to print! Fujicolor Crystal Archive paper and "laser" (not LED) printer. Looks awesome! Except 1 print, 15 sec exposure that came out wrong, ugly and noisy. Testimony of BMW! The UDM (Ultimate Driving Machine) which gives SDP (Sheer Driving pleasure)

Today, I met Mr. Collin Hon. He's the Director of Bel Hon Airfilters. He fetched us (me and colleague) in his brand new BMW 528i. Its great! Like all BMWs.

Anyway. This is the story. How he got his new Beemer.

He went to the Merc showroom with his fren to get a Merc. After trying, he was ready to give the downpayment. But his fren said Lets go try BMW. He said I DON'T like BMWs! But in the end he gave in and went to try. He walked out after paying the downpayment for a brand new BMW 528i. =P
